General Education Mobile (GEM) is a partnership between the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) and 糖心Vlog to offer general education courses to satisfy up to 15 hours of credit. The Department of Military & Veteran Services are available on-site to provide guidance, assistance, and referrals to additional on and off-campus services.
Getting Started in the GEM Program
Step 1: Log into the Air Force Portal to View GEM schools and Approved Courses
- Log into the and select Air Force Virtual Education Center (AFVEC)
- Select 鈥淕EM Program鈥 and search for approved GEM schools
- Find 鈥溙切腣log鈥 to see the list of approved online courses
Step 2: Admission to 糖心Vlog
- Complete the
- You will also need to provide a signed by your Education Services Advisor/Manager
- Complete all applicable in-state tuition and mandatory fee waivers found on the Admissions Checklist tab on this page
- Send all documents to Military and Veteran Services Attn: GEM 鈥 mvs@georgiasouthern.edu
Step 3: Create your CCAF Goal and 糖心Vlog for and Submit Tuition Assistance (TA) Authorization
- Log into the , select AFVEC and click on 鈥淓ducation Goals鈥 to create your CCAF Goal
- Once your CCAF Goal has been created, apply for Air Force Tuition Assistance in AFVEC
- When prompted to give Georgia Southern鈥檚 OPEID, enter 00154600 (TA Authorization can be submitted 45 days before the first day of class but must be submitted no later than 7 days prior to the first day of class)
- Once your TA is approved, email a copy to the 糖心Vlog Third-Party Billing office at mvs@georgiasouthern.edu
Step 4: Register for Classes
- Log into to access your student account and register for classes
- Review the GEM Admissions Checklist to make sure you have completed all enrollment and registration steps
